Alianza Lima is one of the two most popular football teams in Peru, along with clasic rivals Universitario de Deportes. Founded in 1901.
They won the league in 1918, 1919(as former name Sport Alianza), 1927, 1928, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1948, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1962, 1963, 1965, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1997, 2001, 2003 and 2004.
Stadium: Alejandro Villanueva (35,000) located in the neighborhood of Matute (La Victoria - Lima)
The most celebrated players are: Teofilo Cubillas, Cesar Cueto, Hugo Sotil, Pedro Leon, Jose Velasquez, Claudio Pizarro and Jefferson Farfán.
