The Ladies European Tour is the world's second ranked professional golf tour for women after the American based LPGA Tour.
In 2005 there are approximately twenty events on the Tour's schedule. Most of these are in Europe, but the Tour also co-sanctions the ANZ Ladies Masters in Australia and includes a couple of events in Asia.
It should be noted that unlike in men's golf, the European and American tours do not share a common set of majors, although the British Women's Open is co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA and recogised as a major by both organistations. The only other event on the Ladies European Tour with "major" status is the Evian Masters, which is played in France.
