Mark Brunell

Mark Brunell (born 17 September 1970 in Santa Maria, California) is a NFL quarterback and a social worker involved in local Christian ministries.

Early Years

     At St.Joseph High School in Santa Maria,California,Brunell was both a

quarterback,and a safety on the football team for three years.During his prep career, he passed for 5,893 yards,and 41 touchdowns.He was also a two year basketball letterman ,and amassed four all-league selections in baseball. In 1992,he was selected as a 44th round pick by the Atlanta Braves in the 1992 M.L.B. Draft.

NFL Career

Educated at the University of Washington, Brunell was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 5th round in 1992, and traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars on 21 April 1995. During his years at Jacksonville, Brunell was elected to the Pro Bowl three times, in 1997, 1998, and 2000. In 1997, he was awarded the MVP. He was traded to the Washington Redskins during the 2004 offseason.

Mark Brunell is very active within Southpoint Community Church, and is one of the most involved members of Champions for Christ Ministry . He also conducts volunteer work at the University of North Florida. Brunell is married, with four children, and lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
