The Melbourne Tigers is Australia’s premier basketball brand and has been in existence for nearly 70 years.
In that time, the Melbourne Tigers Club has been a dominant force in the development of Australian basketball, and has fostered the career of Australia’s greatest basketball asset, Andrew Gaze. The Melbourne Tigers were represented in front of the entire world television audience when its favourite son and captain led the Australian Olympic team into the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games.
In 2001, it is the most widely known and supported basketball club in Australia, and may have a higher international profile than any other Australian sporting club.
