Mike Gartner (born October 29th, 1959) was a Canadian professional hockey player who played in both the NHL and WHA.
Born Michael Alfred Gartner in Ottawa, Ontario, he was originally selected by the Washington Capitals in the first round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. He played in 1432 NHL Games, racking up 1335 points. He was also chosen the most valuable player of the 1993 NHL All-star game.
He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
